Just heard about Vince, lovely man lots of memories of him at the pit.If we needed anything from the blacksmiths shop I got the job of going as my uncle Ray Thompson worked in there and you never knew if they were taking the Micky with you or being serious but they all looked out for me.Thanks for the happy memories Vince,if there is a domino board up there will you put your proper initials on it?

Vince was a good mate of my Dad's at the pit. He always made a point of asking how Mam and I were when he met us walking outside. The last time we met he told me his age and I was quite suprised. He didn't look his age at all. Such a nice man and always happy. He will be missed by many people in Hetton.

Rip Vince total shame such a great bloke and was a privilege to have had many of years living near you on Houghton road as well as maintaining your gas boiler. Always made me smile with your wit and great sense of humour. Sending love to your family at this very difficult time.
