Donald Walter Bidgood (Don) of Bridgwater passed away peacefully on 16th November 2020 aged 90.

Don was born and grew up in Bridgwater. He was well known around the town but especially in connection with local sports clubs, the business community and the many people who walked into 47, St. John Street, the sports retail and shoe repair business he started with Gordon Steele many years ago.

Don was a wonderful brother, uncle and friend to Evelyn, Merv, Martin, Heather, Lucy, Nick, Donna, Ruby and Christine, he will be greatly missed in all of our lives. Don may be gone by he will live on in our hearts and minds.

We would like to extend our sincere and deepest thanks to all who supported and cared for Don in the closing years of his life, his GP and practice staff, GH Quality Care staff, the independent carers who provided overnight care for a few weeks, Sedgemoor’s Piper Line personnel, all the staff at Casa Di Lusso at Bower Lane and all those many health care professionals who have cared for him in his many visits to various Wards at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. The care and attention given to Don is greatly appreciated!
