As a family, we will be forever grateful to Peter. He started both James & William off in organised football and encouraged me to coach. Those Sundays we spent all day out with Saints were amongst the happiest of our lives.

Heartfelt condolences from Mark, Helen, James & William.

Peter started this team off as Under 7's in 1996 and he persuaded me to take over as manager. This is in 2004 when they were Under 15's and we went on an Easter tour to Southampton and Bournemouth. Peter was our tour guide at St Mary's

In memory of Peter. Youth football doesn't always bring the best out of adults but Peter's conduct was impeccable. He had a positive impact on so many young footballers. I will always remember his serenity and his air of wisdom.

Read the final paragraph. Absolute Legend. He didn’t rest for long and continued his fine work in the south of England 🙌🏻

Remembering an absolute legend of a man in Peter Horne who coached me from a boy at 8yrs old to the age of 16. The difference this guy made to mine and so many peoples lives is immeasurable. He dedicated so much of his time and life to football and the players he managed. He guided us all positively through the delicate years of our lives. He took us to pro football games, abroad every year and was the first person to introduce the transfer market to junior football by convincing the best people to come play for him. 😆. He developed a local junior team into the best in the north of england. A true gentlemen in every sense and many many people are really saddened by his passing. Thank you for the memories and the part you played in our lives. 🙌🏻⚽️💙🤍🖤

To Kate & family,
All the players, parents, managers, volunteers & committee members at Hebden Bridge Saints JFC were so sorry to hear about Peter's passing. Although some of us did not have the pleasure of meeting Peter, many former players & coaches have spoken very highly of him & said that he was a very decent man who would always have time for everyone & was a great role model.
The club & former players are hoping to commemorate Peter by arranging memorial activities over the coming weeks, & naming a trophy after him so that he will be remembered & celebrated within our club for many more years to come.
