In loving memory of Gwendoline Valerie Holland who sadly passed away on 5th October 2020.
She grew up in North Wingfield with her family where she met Alan Holland.
In her youth she worked at Pleasley Mills and went on to work at Hosiery Mills.
In this time she married Alan Holland where they went on to have four children.
After having children Gwen took up being a house wife whilst Alan worked down the mines.
Later on she started working at Portland club as a part time cleaner where she made many friends.
Everybody knew her as Gwen, she was a opinionated but had a heart of gold and would help anybody that needed it.
But before mobile phones she used to stand on the doorstep and always used her voice to call the boys in at tea time.
Gwen had ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren however gwen loved her family, she took on four more great grandchildren and treat them all the same.
Gwen always donated to the Air Ambulance so in honour of her name we would like anyone that wants to, to donate to them instead of flowers and cards.
