On 2nd October, peacefully at Sutton Hall & Lodge, Allen aged 81 years. Dearly loved husband of Linda, proud and loving dad of Steve, the best grandad in the world to Millie and Izzy, beloved father in law, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Allen served his apprenticeship as a welder at Frank Tathams at Oakworth. He then worked for many years as a HGV driver for Chris Metcalfe and James C Ashworth of Allerton driving to France three times a week. When Steve was born he said he wanted no more overnights away from home so drove for Gores and Forders. He ended his working life working for himself at Hall Terrace Garage repairing cars. He rode motorcycles for over 60 years and made life long friends who still met up even when they no longer went out on their bikes. He cherished his friendships, got on well with everyone he met and was always laughing and smiling. He was a proud family man and when his granddaughters came along he devoted his life to them.

It’s amazing how much my dad meant to people, we had another cheque too to add to the total. I was so lucky in life to be chosen as his son, he was a great husband a great dad and a beyond perfect grandad

Thank you to everyone that has sent us messages of kindness as it really does help us.
