Olive Dorothy Clarke passed away peacefully, at her home in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire on Friday, 29th May 2015 at approximately 3.00 p.m.

Olive was the treasured Wife of the late Ernie Clarke and a wonderful Mum to her three beloved children, Terry, Allen and Julia. She had three Grandchildren, Thomas, Douglas and Nicholas, whom she clearly cherished and was blessed with three delightful Great Grandchildren, Millie and Zak (to Thomas and Amie) and Finlay (to Douglas and Elaine),

As part of her eldest son Allen’s life, Olive also adopted an extended Family - his Partner Jennie’s children and their families - Gary and Graham and their children, Liam, Owen, Curtis and Sophie. They embraced Olive into their lives as she embraced them into hers.

We know that Olive would especially wish to thank her very close and dear friend, Kathie, who cared for her with such love, tenderness and compassion over recent years. Thanks Kathie what would I have done without you?

Night, Night, God Bless, Mum - Love You So Very Much xxxx

All floral tributes welcome. Monetary Donations can be made at the service, using Just Giving on this page or sent to J. H. Landin Funeral Service, 72 High Street, Chatteris, Cambs, PE16 6NN. Tel 01354 760072

Any monetary donations will be gifted to the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, Cambridge who cared so tenderly for Mum during those final days.

I am so sorry to hear of your sad bereavement. I realise that this is a very difficult time for you and the family. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

As you know, I first met Olive when she was convalescing after her knee operation. As her named nurse I saw her daily and I immediately felt a bond with her because she was always jolly. We had a common interest because I used to live in Chatteris when I was raising a family. My memories of Olive are happy ones. We would chat about things that were important to her and about places that we both knew. I always felt a sense of relaxation whenever I entered her room despite the daily pressures we all seem to experience. This feeling of easy interaction kept us in touch long after she went home. We kept in touch by telephone and she always remembered to send a Christmas Card. I will miss her. I am sorry that I only knew her for such a short time.

This is not only a time for grieving but also a time to celebrate Olive’s life and her impact on us all. Her legacy will live on. This is a sad time for you all but the time will come when you will remember the happy times you had together. So, whilst Olive is no longer with us she will not be forgotten.
