In loving memory of Peter John Edley who sadly passed away on 18th August 2020.

A loving Husband and Father full of happiness and enthusiasm for life.

Pete loved nothing more than a good Rammstein Song and a nice real ale to go with it! (Oh and don’t forget the checked Shirt!!)

Only just found out about Peter's passing - we were very close friends while we both worked at Streets Accountants, but lost touch over the years. Will have a pint in your memory Old Mate

All at Read School were so saddened to hear of the news of Peter's illness and then his brief but valiant battle with cancer. Peter made many contributions during his brief time here and we so appreciated his calm unflappability and kindness. The wonderful service today with the musical choices of Rammstein reminded me of many conversations with Peter about rock music and how delightfully incongruous for a diligent accountant to be so passionate about his hard work. The tributes today spoke volumes about this lovely man. His choice of music reminds us to live life to the full and to pack in every Rammstein concert possible! Much love from all of us, Peter x

It was great to meet up with Pete, decades after first going to school with him. Everyone who attended the Kings school reunions enjoyed sharing the memories we all have of those fun years. We also incidentally knocked back more than one or two beers in the pubs we used to frequent (not until we were of age, obviously. Pete will be much missed, our thoughts are with his family.

Went to school with Pete and he was always one of the group that I hung out with. Reconnected after a bit of a gap thanks to the Grantham boys reunion and what a great bloke to share a few beers with and prop up the bar at 2 in the morning. Lots of good memories and he will be missed.

So sad to see this untimely news. Pete was a good mate at and after school. We drank beer together, watched football, drank beer, played cricket, drank beer. Conversation and time spent with Pete was always time well spent.

He will be missed

I didn’t know Pete, I heard a lot about him though through Lauren who I worked with / my friend. When I think about all the times Lauren spoke about or mentioned Pete it was always with such love, care, affection and humour. They seemed to be two peas in a pod who had found their soul mate in each other. This world is so cruel at times and Pete shouldn’t have been taken from Lauren and his family and friends so soon. It makes no sense, it’s so unfair. My sincere condolences to all that knew Pete...sending love and hugs to you Lauren x

Peter was my assistant for 10 years at The Retreat and was not only highly competent in his work but simply as nice a man as I have ever met. Never a bad word for anyone and always positive. He was my go to when I needed a chat with a friend at work. He scored Lauren and was really proud of son Sam. He is greatly missed and I consider it a privilege to have known him. Always pulled his leg about how fussy he was about gelling his hair! He’ll be in a great place now for sure - till we meet again

Pete , I only knew you for a period of time that seems like a lifetime ago now but your company was always good.
I still have your signature on my passport as you was the only professional I knew to sign my application!
Your dedication to Lauren is an example to all men.
I dearly wish I wasn't writing this message.
Thoughts are with the family tonight and for the the coming days

What can I say? I’m gutted to hear Pete’s gone. I was at school with him and remained good mates in our 20s - we went to each other’s first weddings. We’d got in touch again recently and he joined our King’s School reunion in the past couple of years. What a big hearted man, what lovely company, and boy, he liked his beer. If we could all smile half as much as Pete, the world would be a better place. Rest in peace my friend. Your old class mates are gonna miss you.
