We are sad to announce the death of Mrs Elsie Mabel Vaughan, who passed away peacefully at the Ridgeway Nursing Home on Friday, 7th August.

Elsie was the widow of Frank Benjamin Vaughan, who passed away in 2005. They were married for 63 years and were blessed with four children, Carol (deceased), Adrian, Raymond and Sharon.
Elsie had 2 great loves in her life – her family and her strong Christian faith, which gave her great comfort and strength in her final days. A very smart and gentle lady with a wonderful sense of humour,
she will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Mourning the loss of a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother – Carol’s husband, Chris, Adrian and Hazel, Raymond, Sharon and John. Grandchildren – Nicola and husband Paul, Julia and husband Steve, Wesley and wife Claire, Luther and wife Nadia, Aimee and husband Jonathan, Eugene and Partner, Luke and partner, Suvanna, Joseph, Matthew Aaron,
Esther and partner Josh. Great Grandchildren - Declan, Sam, Tilly, Sofia, Elliot, Madison, Caleb, Isaac, Joshua, Lois, Mia, Grace, Freya, Alesha and Shaniah. Also sadly missed by numerous, relatives and friends.

Elsie was born in Ware, Hertfordshire in 1925, one of four children born to Sam and Catherine Skipp. She met Frank, who served with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers when they were stationed in Hertfordshire. They married in
1942. Frank was born into the farming community in Gwaen Valley and settled in Hertfordshire after the war.
Frank and Elsie moved to Pembrokeshire in 1981. Elsie worked in Snowdrop Bakery, Snowdrop Lane and Frank was a driving instructor but in later years was driving for Richards Bros Coaches.

The funeral arrangements are being carried out by E.C. Thomas & Son, Llanteg, Narbeth and Pembroke.

The funeral service took place, held under Covid restrictions with family only at Calvary Church, Haverfordwest on Tuesday, 18th August at 11am which was followed by interment at City Road Cemetery.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the exemplary care Elsie received at The Ridgeway Nursing Home, Llawhaden, Narberth.
