In loving memory of Kevin Pope, much loved brother, brother-in-law ,Uncle and friend to many.

Steve Ward wrote

RIP Kev and thanks for the memories. There are so many of Junior and secondary school, listening to music at your house in Herbert road, going to numerous concerts at the college on Friday nights, Christmas' at Rainham social and going on the train in the summer, using runaround tickets to Margate, Ramsgate and Dumpton Park with the gang. Also the trip to the Beer Festival in Belgium, where you can guess who smashed their beer stein saying cheers. You also introduced me to Krautrock and told me about the Brinsley Shwarz gig in Canterbury street where entrance was only 10p! I really enjoyed the music at the funeral and had heard of Van der graf Generator. My only regret is that we did not keep in touch after you moved to Gillingham.
Gone but not forgotten
ps Barry sends his sincere condolences and his memories of you will be of fun and laughter.

Kevin was a friendly, warm and good-natured man with a great smile and a good sense of humour. Although we did not see him that often, whenever we got together for family occasions, he was always so happy to see us and the feeling was mutual. He was good fun as demonstrated by the cat’s bottom that adorned the birthday and Christmas cards he sent!
We will remember him with fondness.
Kevin, you made us smile.

You don’t have many friendships that last 55 years so you will be sadly missed old friend. So many memories of boozing sessions, Holidays at Ayr, Amsterdam and Majorca, away trips To far flung places and just hanging out. Also so many laughs, sharing music and enjoying each other’s company. RIP old friend share a beer now with Ashdown and Cowie We love you!

Kev, the best and most annoying brother ever ! I remember picking Bluebells in the woods and looking for Slow Worms and Moths. I still have scars from our childhood days and I'm still terrified of Crane Flies because you put them down my neck ! Love you and miss you bro. RIP

Some great memories of one of the nicest, jolliest people I've had the pleasure to know.
'Archie' games at school, All night subbuteo (Jimmy Bone), Long away trips following the Gills, Strange drinks (Snakebites), Obscure bands (Edgar Broughton - 'Out Demons Out'), Running away from girls in the woods, 'Exotic' holidays (Margate, Clacton, Ayr) and being best man at our wedding in 1977.

Kev - You will be missed but never forgotten.

  • Hi Tug, I agree completely, I have not long found out the bad news and I feel so bad. You boys and me, Kev and Big Bryan were real friends. We had great times and I know we need to focus on these times. No words will do really. God bless one of my best friends, good old Kev, your silly little mate Dave Roche.
