In loving memory of Christine Love who sadly passed away on 24th May 2020.

Christine was born in Lincoln, the only child of Ernest and Edna Smith and lived there until moving to Colchester in the 1980’s. She married twice, firstly to John Kemp with whom she had two children, Debbie and Warren. Following the end of her marriage she wed Dave Love who sadly died in 2013. Chris had several careers, in banking, libraries and local authority but latterly trained as a primary school teacher, something she successfully did until her retirement.

Always energetic she loved sports, with a particular passion for golf. Travel was another passion and she enjoyed many holidays in Greece, Spain, and Italy. She was extremely articulate and quick witted, although she did not like losing at games!

Following Dave’s passing and already suffering with Parkinson’s she moved back to Lincolnshire in 2014 to live near Debbie and her family. Shortly after this she met John Parker who became a devoted and constant companion, taking a great deal of time to care for her as her illness progressed. She became an avid watercolour painter and regularly used to sit and play cards with John. Her retirement years were not easy and it was difficult for such an active person to be as restricted as she was.

When remembering her, think of the witty, sporty, wine loving person she was.
