We always enjoyed our chats with Mary at family gatherings, talking about horses and the countryside, we had a lot in common.
Our thoughts very much with you all, we were with you at the lovely service today.

We will always remember Mary for her absolute consistency in who and what she cared about; her beloved Rob, her music and its teaching, her children and grandchildren and other members of the extended family. We shall not forget her.

From as early as I can remember, Auntie Mary was a strong presence and influence in our lives in countless ways. We have treasured memories of her kindness, spirit and generosity; her laughter and her tales all shaped our family over the years. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

John Gittings donated in memory of Mary

Mary was kind and caring, the matriarch of a great family, ready in lively discourse, alert to the twists and turns of life, deep in the world of music, and close to country and farm. She and Rob formed a steadfast partnership which I have known and admired for over sixty years: we shared the happiness of children, the progress of their and our careers, and the mellowing of age. Rob and Mary were a unity, the one inseparable from the other in our thoughts and conversation. We mourn her loss now.
