In loving memory of Betty Jean Draper

23rd May 1934 to 25th April 2020

Betty was the much beloved Wife and still the only girl in the world of the late Edward Ernest (Ted). A loving and caring Mom to Diane, Edward and Richard and Mother-in-Law to Keith, Jackie and Angela. A dear sister to Brenda and the late Iris, Dennis and Les. A very special and doting Granny to Julie, Dawn, Sean, Gareth, Kerry, Wayne and Paul and Great Granny to her 13 Great Grandchildren Bradley, Georgia, Jake, Riley, Alyssa, Minnie, Roux, Cruz, Nancy, Grace, Olly, Renzo and Dotty.

Betty was a lovely lady who was treasured and loved dearly by all her family and she will be remembered with fondest memories. She will also be missed by her friends and neighbours in Great Barr, Oscott Village and all at St Matthews Church.

Due to the current circumstances a small private family funeral will take place on 29th May 2020 in the East Chapel at Streetly Crematorium. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on a later date where extended family, friends and neighbours will all be welcome.

Donations to the Stroke Association would be gratefully received, in loving memory of Betty. Please follow the JustGiving link.

Remember Me

Don’t remember me with sadness,
Don’t remember me with tears,
Remember all the laughter
We’ve shared throughout the years.
Now I am contented
That my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing that I passed along the way
I made somebody smile.
When you are walking down the street
And you’ve got me on your mind,
I’m walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
So please don’t be unhappy
Just because I’m out of sight,
Remember that I’m with you
Each morning, noon and night.

Betty, a lovely lady and great friend. I have so many beautiful memories of great times we spent together years ago on the houseboat and at the British Legion Club. You are now with the houseboat crowd having a chuckle with Ted, Fred, Denis, Sylv & Les. RIP Betty, thank you for the lovely memories, love from Ivy xx

My Beautiful Mom, time to say goodbye for now. I know how lucky i have been to have a Mom so selfless, kind and caring. Thank you for all the endless memories you have made with me, Ange, Wayne and Paul, memories we can treasure forever.
Finally reunited with Dad, your Ted, I can see you both now, going for a walk hand in hand to the Drakes Drum in heaven for a couple of pints as you always did on a nice summers evening. Miss and love you always, Ange & Rich xx xx

We all have lovely memories of Betty such a kind lady. She was always first in at St Matthews café on a Friday without fail. We will miss her when we go back to the café. She was always telling about her lovely family she was so proud of them.

Thinking of Betty puts a smile on our faces and that is how it will always be for us. When we had tea after the Sunday service Betty always had her china cup and saucer with a silver spoon. May God bless her. RIP Betty, love Janet xx
