In loving memory of the late Albert Edwin Love who sadly passed away on 9th May 2015.

Albert was the eldest of five children of Wallace Albert Love and Grace Annie Warton. He was born and raised in Haringey, north London on 20 July 1924 before the family moved to south London around 1932 where Albert was to remain. He served in the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm) during the second world war and married Joan Elsie Margaret Belcher on 20 January 1951. They were together for nearly 59 years.

Albert was a keen gardener and won many trophies. He became lifetime president of Camberwell Gardeners Guild. His other keen hobby which he successfully shared with his wife was bowling and together they added to the ever growing cupboard of trophies.

He was renowned for his cheerfulness and almost to his death remained a happy person. He leaves four children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one
I'd like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days
I'd like the tears of those who grieve
to dry before the sun
of happy memories
that I leave when life is done

I will remember uncle Bert with fondness, he and Joan were always so welcoming with a smile when we visited them. I will be attending on Tuesday with my husband Terry.

Camberwell Gardens Guild wrote

On behalf of the Camberwell Gardens Guild I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Albert's family. Albert was a very valued and loved member of the Guild, as was his wife Joan. They will always be remembered for the great part they played in the life of the Guild over many years.
