In loving memory of our beautiful mum Marie Teresa Allan (née Queen) who sadly passed away on Monday 11th May 2020 after a long illness.

Marie was a much loved mum of Veronica, George, Marie, Pauline and Andrea and lovely gran to Ross, Kirsten, Caitlin, Michael, Matthew, Rachel, Connor and Liam.

She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends who loved her so much.

Due to the restrictions at this time, Marie will have a private burial which can only be attended by immediate family at Mearns Cemetery on Thursday 21st May 2020. We would kindly ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers on that day.

A memorial mass and gathering will be arranged at a later date for everyone to attend, where we can all come together to celebrate our mum’s life.

Thank you everyone for your very special messages and lit candles for our mum. They have really meant a lot to us. Mum’s burial yesterday was perfect. We sang her favourite May hymns and it was so spiritual and rich in meaning in every way, made even more special by Father Eoin Patten’s delivery and the fact it was also Ascension Thursday. How blessed we were for mum to share that special day. We were so fortunate also to have had a live streamed mass yesterday morning dedicated to mum before her burial, from Our Lady and St Kevin’s Church in Tipperary. This mass for mum delivered by Father Tom Fogarty was a perfect tribute to her. The mass included mum’s favourite hymns and Father Tom’s kind words and meaningful prayers also brought us huge comfort.

We look forward to celebrating mum and her life at a memorial mass and after gathering with many of you when it is safe to do so.

Our precious memories that mum has created, will help us to smile through the times we will miss her the most, and cherish her memory as a beautiful person both inside and out.

Sincere sympathies and our deep condolences at this sad time to you all, even harder with the current restrictions caused by Covid 19. Aunt Marie was a lovely lady and will always be remembered and fondly referred to, by us, as ‘our glamorous aunt’! May she rest peacefully in heaven.

Aunt Marie was a lovely, elegant woman who was always kind and generous to my sister and me when we were children. Later on, she was a great support to my mum after my father died. We will remember her with great appreciation and love. Condolences to the family for the loss.

Marie was a very dear friend for several years. We shared such a lot of good times, which are now treasured memories. We laughed, we prayed at St. Cadoc's rosary group, of which she was a faithful member. We also shared time at the SSVP society together. I will miss her so much, but know she is where she was meant to be from all eternity... and bet she's so happy! Rest in peace dear Marie xx

  • Dear Andrea and family, I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I have a very fond early memory of your mum helping me one night at a St Cadocs Primary School function of some sort. A particularly weighty double door was about to crush me and your mother appeared like an angel and saved me from this gruesome end, or so it seemed at the time. I will always have this lovely memory of her hoisting me up with the slightest touch and gracefully gliding through the double doors to be deposited on the other side. She then smiled down at me and continued on with a grace and eloquence that I still remember as if it was yesterday. Andrea, my thoughts are with you and your family.

  • Hi David, what a lovely story about mum. That sounds so her. So kind of you to share it with us. Will cherish that story. Trying to recall the connection. Did I go to school with you by any chance? Andrea
