It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to Uncle Brian. Brian’s quick wit and infectious smile will never be forgotten. His ability to insert the word “ shocking! “ where a swear word might suffice was a gift he had , especially when kids were around, and there was always kids!
His love of motor bikes and cars, camping on the back of a lorry, his affection to his sister, ( my mother ) Joyce and our entire family will never be forgotten.
Although I have not been a part of Brian, Margret and their family life for many years my thoughts and love from Canada has always been there.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, there are special people in our lives who never leave us even after they are gone, honouring a wonderful uncle Brain.

No words I write will make this easier, a beloved husband, dad, father in law, Grandad and Great Grandad missed by so many.
So many memories that we will treasure forever from the small like the oxo drinks, the popcorn, the fight for relish to the big like family parties, weddings and christenings, with others in between like the caravan and many more, the list is endless because you went above and beyond to make sure not one of us missed out. Wether we were 1 Mile away or 500 miles away you never stopped thinking about any of us and that's exactly what we will do now, never stop thinking about you. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten you will live on in my heart and so many others, you will be embraced in so many memories. We will talk about you, remember you and continue to make you proud like you did us. I want to share this and send out my love, gone but not forgotten.

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, 'Peace be Thine'.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

Rest in paradise xxx

From Gerhard ( Roys father -in-law ) " When it seems we die on Earth , midst silver stars we have our birth , and though we seem to have long gone and those we loved be left alone , yet them within our souls we bear ; At dusk and dawn we draw so near , our souls do then reach out and touch those whom on Earth we loved so much . Then , through spirit-portals frame we see their love as golden flame ." this was given to Roy's wife's family on her mums funeral day .

You and Margaret invited me into your home even before anyone else knew about me and Elaine. You were such an easy person to get on with and I loved your stories about the fairs and the shops you had. I love the lollipop stick models and also the musical boxes you made. I will miss you, Sundays just won't be the same.
