In loving memory of Michael Ernest Ruffles who sadly passed away on 21st April 2020.
Michael grew up in Thorpe-Le-Soken, he was one of three children, Shirley being the eldest and Glennis the youngest.
Michael qualified as an electrical contractor and engineer this was always his dream. He particularly enjoyed the engineering side.
After marrying Jannette, the love of his life, they moved to London, where he worked as an engineer for British Railways and they went on to have two children Andre and Mireille.
Michael had a love of the countryside. In his youth he spent his summer holidays in Suffolk with his Auntie Peggy and his grandparents, so when he found a derelict property in Stowmarket he thought it would make a great family home.He loved his home and the family has many special memories of living there.
Michael decided to set up in business as an electrical contractor and was very successful. Andre worked by his side and will continue to run the business, keeping Mike’s memory alive.
Mike was a lovely, gentle, chatty chap and well loved by those who knew him. The family will cherish his memory and he is greatly missed.

We were friends of Michael and Jannette for nearly 50 years. He will be missed not only by us but his many friends and family. I will miss those long chats we used to have putting the world to right, on some occasions into the early hours of the morning when we lived in Poplar Hill.
Time didn’t mean anything to Michael, I’m sure he will make some great friends on his journey to that place in sky.

To this day I think back on many fond memories with you all. In particular as a child visiting over the Christmas period. Mike was always such a caring, generous family man. Full of laughter and bringing joy to all. I will continue to cherish his memory dear.
