In loving memory of Wilfred Kenneth Starkey who sadly passed away on 25th April 2020.
Loving husband to Christine, much loved Dad of Marie and Clare, cherished Grandad to Layla, Damian, Kirk, Ashley, Conor, Lauren, Sophie and Caleb and a very proud Great Grandad to Dexter and Teddy.
Ken passed away peacefully after a determined battle against Alzheimer's disease, which sadly took him quickly at the end.
He will be fondly remembered for being a very loving family man, with his second love being the RAF! He will also be remembered for his love of planes in general, his knowledge of birds and for the dedication he gave to the village of Overseal, serving on their committee and being responsible for organising the fly past at Overseal Gala for many years.
Ken was one of the 'Old School' - a true gent who would go above and beyond for anyone.
As a family, we are truly heartbroken to lose such a huge part of our family. He is going to be missed enormously by us all.

A kinder and more genuine man you couldn’t wish to meet. Always happy to chat, listen and have some good old-fashioned fun to make us laugh (especially Aunt Bard!) always so proud of his family and a fantastic husband to Christine. It’s so strange to think you’re gone, especially in these circumstances when funerals can’t be attended by many. Rest in peace Ken- no more suffering. Heaven has gained one of the best! Much love to all the family from Sarah, Sue, Barry and Aunt Bard xxxxxxx

One of the strangest moments in life is having to say goodbye to someone you thought was going to be around forever. Not through naivety but just in hope your hero was going to last forever. Ken Starkey knew what life was about better than most. He knew it wasn't about material gains but about family and happiness within that family. He would rather see a smile on someones face than a new watch on his wrist. This guy was the prominent Male role model for me and alot of the family and he will continue to be the benchmark for all. To the true gent that is my grandad. I love you.
