Oh Auntie Janet, where do I start? I remember coming to stay with you both at the caravan in Stamford, the flat in Boston, catching the bus to come for the weekend, stopping off at Burton’s to see Uncle Cliff before coming to you in Shoefayre.
The pleasure of ironing handkerchiefs and wearing your high heeled shoes! Holidays as a child and as an adult spent with you both, so many happy times and memories, I hope you enjoyed those times as much as I did.
You found it so difficult when Uncle Cliff died, but somehow you managed to start enjoying life again. We have had some lovely times, and talked about so many things over the last few years.
2019 was not the best of years, but again your inner resources, strength of character and determination to live to be 100, saw you improve and be well on the way to getting there. How I wish you had achieved your dream, never fear if I am around when you would have reached 100, I will be having a large glass of sherry!
Christmas 2019 will always be special, remembering the games of scrabble, the cognacs and conversation you had with James.
Our last conversation we had when you were so poorly in hospital was about the holiday in South Wales later this year. We were all looking forward too going away, and how you needed to keep that in focus whilst you were feeling so poorly, I so hope that holiday was always in your thoughts.
You will be alongside me always
Lots of love
Ann xxxx
