In loving memory of Cashy Hudson who sadly passed away at home surrounded by her family, on 20th March 2020, after a brief illness.

Cashy was born -- Joan Iris Cashford - Hammersmith, London - 29th July 1937
During World War Two Cashy was evacuated to Uttoxeter
There were lots of Joans at the Childrens' home – so Joan became Cashy and it stuck.
She was taken in by the Rees family in 1940
In 1947 Cashy was formally adopted by Trevor and Evelyn Rees
Cashy met John Hudson at Uttoxeter Boys Youth Club.
In April 1962 John and Cashy were married at Kingstone Parish church.
John and Cashy started their married life at Bass Street, Derby.
Later Cashy and John moved to Alvaston, Derby
Cashy has two daughters - Sue and Amanda.
Cashy worked as the lollipop lady at the local infants and junior school – 1979 – 1991
Cashy devoted her life to her three little Flossies - Charlotte, Abbie and Ali
Cashy adored her extended family - brother, sisters, 'in-laws', nephews, nieces, sons-in-law, grandchildren's partners.
Cashy had two knee replacements - which didn't stop her enjoying life.

Cashy's funeral will be held at Trent Valley Crematorium on Wednesday 8th April at 12:30pm.

Due to Coronavirus restrictions attendance at the funeral is limited to her immediate family only.

We know that this will be disappointing and upsetting for many people that wanted to attend and pay their respects in person. However, the service will be videoed and will be shared online after the service. A link to the video will be shared once available.

During Cashy's illness we were supported by wonderful, caring and compassionate staff from Treetops' "Hospice at Home" service. Without this support caring for Cashy would have been immeasurably more difficult. Treetops recieves no funding from the goverment, NHS or local authority and rely solely on public donations. Consequently, in order to repay the support we received, we are collecting donations for Treetops.

If you would like to donate: there is a link on this memorial page to Treetops; alternatively donations can be send direct to the family or to the undertakers.

Please feel free to use the message page on this site to share your memories of Cashy with all of us.

Yesterday we said our final goodbyes to Cashy. Due to restrictions, not the funeral we had planned, but I think we did her proud.
My sincere thanks - to all those, who cared for her during her illness, the funeral directors, the celebrant, those who turned out to see her off, for all your kind messages of support, and donations to Treetops. Finally, to my magnificent family, who have given so much love and support to Cashy and I, Thank you all.
