Jim Moffett Payne (2 Jul 1944 - 14 Mar 2020)

I am making a donation in loving memory of Jim who was a lovely friend. We spent enjoyable times together in Balerno and London and holidays with memorable walks with the "Hard Boiled Egg Walking Club". He will never be forgotten.

First met Jim in mid sixties when attending classes for Bank exams. By 70's we both lived in Balerno. In the 80's we became neighbours in Crosswood Crescent and also work colleagues-he was a great boss. During the 90's we became regular golf partners and enjoyed the occasional pint together-a long and happy connection through our lives.
So, a colleague neighbour, golf buddy, but above all he was my friend. A thoroughly decent and always pleasant man- an honour to have known him.

Jim was a work colleague and friend for almost 50 years. He was just a lovely guy who will be sorely missed.

We first met many years ago in Majorca on a walking holiday organised by HPB. We became close friends and stayed with Jim and Maureen at their home enjoying the Edinburgh Jazz Festival. You will be sadly missed Jim by many, your Nottingham friends Audrey & Mike

A lovely man always with a smile! My memories go back to the 70s in our RBS days, through the Pensioners Association and onto the Gym days where we tried to put the world to rights, with lots of humour and laughter! Love to Maureen and all the Family.

I knew Jim through RBS for many years, he was such a lovely guy. I pass on my kindest thoughts to the family - he will be missed at our gatherings. Ian Cuthbert.

Very sorry to hear about your loss of Jim. I took over from Jim at Leith Walk Branch way back in time. I met him many times over the years and found him to be one of the good guys. RBS needed more like him. He will be very much missed. My sincere condolences. Rod.
