In loving memory of Douglas Shearer who passed away, peacefully, after a short illness, at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, on 25th February 2020. Beloved husband of Margaret, loving dad of Patrick, Paul, Vincent, Marie and Kathleen, much loved granda and great-granda. Fortified by rites of Holy Catholic Church, RIP. Funeral Mass on Thursday 5th March at 10am and thereafter to Glasgow Crematorium at Tresta Rd, Lambhill. Donations, in lieu of flowers, gratefully received, in aid of The Beatson.
Douglas was born in Possil Park, Glasgow in 1943 and joined the merchant navy at a young age leading to an adventurous life. Married to Margaret for 54 years, they lived life to the full. He loved to paint colourful paintings and was a huge fan of Vincent Van Gogh.
