As someone we have known for many years , as a work colleague and a true friend we are deeply saddened by Mike's passing . An honest and kind person with a work ethic to be admired Mike was someone who always faced life head on and had that rare and precious gift of being able to make people laugh . One of the most straight-up people I have had the greatest pleasure of knowing, I'm saddened to hear of Mike's passing.
Always quick with a line of dry wit, I enjoyed his immense pragmatism and knowing that his 'gut feels' were normally more reliable than most people's facts.
I spent many hours in his and Pat's company, and I am truly grateful for the example of honesty and integrity he always was to me.
He taught me plenty and I never missed the opportunity to promote what he and Richard have done over the years at MP Eastern. He was very kind and patient - at least to me - and helped resolve a few 'challenges' that couldn't have been fixed by anyone else.
Without a doubt it will be difficult to find someone else as dedicated and focussed on what he was all about.
Curry won't quite be the same now he's not here, either.
However, I'm sure he'd have some pithy comment about being 'on the other side'.
I'll be sure to raise a glass next time, to you, Sir!
