In loving memory of Delia Kapur who sadly passed away on 27th January 2020

Mrs Delia Kapur aged 87, passed away peacefully at home.

Delia was born into a large family, as Delia O'Grady on the 6th of March 1932 in Corofin, County Clare. Here she had apparently spent her young life outdoors, riding horses bareback. She later went with her brother Sean to live with her Aunt, Mrs Cuneen, in Scarriff. After gaining her school leaving certificate Delia came to live in the UK and trained as a nurse. Here she met her beloved husband Ketu, who she loved and cherished all her life.

They lived in a number of places including Wimbledon in London, Cambridge and Swansea. Swansea was their favourite as they were there when their 3 daughters were young, and they enjoyed a lovely time with their neighbours, partying, socialising as families, and going to their caravan in Llanmadoc. They later settled in Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, where Ketu worked as a GP until his death in 2005.
Delia was a strong, lively, and fit woman for most of her life. She enjoyed visiting Derbyshire which reminded her of home in Ireland. She loved her children, grandchildren & her dogs, and in her 80's could be found playing football with both in her garden. She enjoyed shopping, gardens, music, holidays, antique fairs and of course the antique roadshow!

She often met with friends from St Philip Neri’s Church and the 21 club, whose friendship she valued dearly. In her last years
she enjoyed her time listening to music and going to a number of music festivals.

She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters; Fiona, Sue and Hes, and her grandchildren; Kathryn, Corin and India, and by the rest of her family and friends.
