In loving memory of Violet Stubbings who sadly passed away on 19th January 2020. Violet was born in Chesterfield on 14th February 1943 and lived in Bolsover with her Mother, Father and four siblings, May, Joyce, June and James (Arthur).

She worked at Metal box in Mansfield as a Machine Operator for around 19 years where she met her husband Roy Douglas Stubbings. After having her son Paul she became a full time housewife and lived in Mansfield until Roy passed away in 1996.

Violet lived in Shirebrook for almost the last 20 years and enjoyed shopping in the local market and various shops. Violet was a funny and talkative character who would always make people laugh. She had a very generous nature and would always try to help people in whatever way she could.

In 2017 she was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and lived the last part of her life in Langwith Lodge care home where she spent Two and a half happy years enjoying the Food, the company, firework displays (On Bonfire Night) and organised trips.

I will always have fond memories of my mum, as she was a kind-hearted, funny and generous person.
