Her service will be held at Gilroes crematorium, Leicester on Tuesday 15th October 2019 at 1:30pm. Clothing should be non mourning please in celebration of mums life. Gathering afterwards to be advised.

Mum had a smile that could light up a room and a glare that would silence any misbehaving child.

She was born in Belgrave June 1936 the eldest of 4 children.

She met Dad whilst on holiday in Blackpool where he was stationed with the RAF, they married in June 1956 and had 4 children. Steven, Bryan, Ian & Stephanie.

When we were young, times were tough as my dad was studying for his teaching qualification so mum was the sole breadwinner and in the 60's womans pay was not great. Despite this our childhood was very happy and we never felt that we went without.

She used to love making my dance costumes for competitions and concerts and often sat up through the night sewing on sequins.

She is survived by 3 siblings, Eileen, Colin and Gordon, 2 children Stephanie and Ian and 6 grandchildren, Aimee, Michelle, Thomas, Richard, Gavin and Gareth.

Eileenl Brookes donated in memory of Margaret

God Bless Meg. Sleep peacefully

I will always be grateful for the love, support and advise you have given me throughout my life. I will miss you very much.

Sadly, mums final years were not happy ones. After working hard all her life and always putting her family before anything else, she only enjoyed a short retirement before becoming ill.

  • I remember her and your dad coming to our 40th in Northwich and my mum and dad taking them to look at some of the places of your dad’s childhood. Hope to be there on 15th. Every blessing.

  • They often spoke of that trip, it brought back so many memories for dad.
