Ronald Rogers (12 Oct 1924 - 11 Sep 2019)

In loving memory of Ronald Rogers who sadly passed away on 11th September 2019
Husband to Flo, Dad to Mike, Terry, Sally, Ian & Mark, with 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Ever a hard worker, he always made sure that we were provided for and both he and Mum would put we children first and go without themselves. He even resorted to working as a potato picker during a slack spell at work, a task that he found punishing as a tall man with all the bending to ground level!.

Dad loved working with his hands, though his brain was equally a match. He built his own commercial workshop/garage, a boat, rocking horses, baby’s cribs, computers. Latterly, he built a number of model locomotives, all to scale and capable of giving rides round the model engineering club track. Dad was incredibly gifted in making things. He was also great at mending things. Mum always said that she never had to get a repairman into the house - Dad fixed it.

Sadly, at 94 his body succumbed to multiple attacks and though he fought hard to resist and overcome them, he finally retired, beaten but unbowed, peacefully at 7:00pm on Wednesday 11 September 2019.

He will be sorely missed as a giant within the family for his steadfastness, determination and the love he had for us all.

He will be forever in our hearts.

Dad was not a religious man, so the funeral will not require black or formal mourning dress, so please add a bit of colour.

We have requested that there be no flowers other than the family display on the coffin, but anyone wishing to do so, can donate to Alzheimer's UK via the button at the top of this page.

The funeral is at 2:30 on Tuesday 1 October at Canley Crematorium (see map right) and the funeral tea at the Jacobean Hotel, Holyhead Road from 3:30pm.
