John and I kept in touch ever since we agreed to swop jobs to expand our product experience in the 1970’s to enhance our chance of career progression.
Rest In Peace. Cleve.

Like John and Mike Langrish-Smith I too spent some years in the ICI Saudi Arabia office. John gave me lots of advice in helping me settle down in my new environment. When we met he would always ask for Mr Waheed - our local sponsors GM who had the habit of welcoming you with ' Gentlemen , Gentlemen' - well there was no finer gentleman than John himself. I too looked forward each year to our C&P Export Manager's get-together when we would get John to select to wine !! I raise a glass of Cloudy Bay to my good friend - he will be sadly missed. God bless him.

  • Nicely put John. Yes he loved Cloudy Bay and I passed that vineyard in May which reminded me of John. Couldn't make the funeral but I hope it all went well.
