In memory of my loving husband Alec Stephen Hone who sadly passed away on 8th July 2019

Alec was a larger than life character who could light up a room. He was fun loving, caring, generous and had a very sensitive side that I think I was very privileged to see.

He lived for his family, singing, song writing, guitar playing, golf and me (I would like to think not necessarily in that order)!

We had only just returned from a lovely week away in Vlycha Beach, Rhodes when my life was turned upside down forever.

Our holiday was full of laughter, lovely food and the odd drink (!!) and those memories will live with me forever. Especially when he brought himself goggles and a snorkel to take into the sea and on the last day took them into the pool with him as he said "you never know what you might find at the bottom of the pool Suzie"! That was typical of Alec - a bit of a donkey at times (that's what we would call each other) but he was my donkey.

The shining light in my life has definitely gone out but I do feel very lucky that I have the comfort of Alec's three wonderful children, Kerry, Lisa & Marc, their partners and our 7 beautiful grandchildren to help keep Alec's memory alive and to keep each other going through this very difficult time.

If there are any parties going on up there in heaven, I know for sure Alec will be leading the singalongs or maybe he's teeing up with his good pal Alan.

Alec was my "I can fix it" man and now when I need fixing, I need him more than ever. If only he could have stayed longer as we still had so much love to share, and so many dreams to fulfil.

Love you millions Alec xx

For info: With regards donations to Cancer Research in Alec's memory, we are also collecting directly for The Stroke Unit at Pilgrim Hospital whose amazing staff cared for Alec. A special shout out to Dr Constantin who is the most caring doctor I have ever met.

I had the pleasure of serving with Alec in Hohne 1989-1992, which included a tour of The Gulf for Desert Storm 1990 -1991.
Fond memories of shared times, Alec always looked out for his men . Condolences & regards to all the family . Arte et Marte.
