"When your mother has grown older,
When her dear, faithful eyes
no longer see life as they once did,
When her feet, grown tired,
No longer want to carry her as she walks -
Then lend her your arm in support,
Escort her with happy pleasure.
The hour will come when, weeping, you
Must accompany her on her final walk.
And if she asks you something,
Then give her an answer.
And if she asks again, then speak!
And if she asks yet again, respond to her,
Not impatiently, but with gentle calm.
And if she cannot understand you properly
Explain all to her happily.
The hour will come, the bitter hour,
When her mouth asks for nothing more."

Great Aunty Wendy was a strong, kind woman who always had a solution to any problem. Aunty Wendy would say it how it was and made her feelings quite clear to all, she had this "look" that told you she was displeased. Aunt Wendy was the glue that held our family together. The most happiest memory I have is going to the beach at huttoft with uncle reg, my mum, aunt wendy, nanny bob and grandad bob, there was jellyfish everywhere all buried in the sand and me and uncle reg investigated them. I will always hold her dear in my heart and will never forget her. Love you always and miss you forever. Xxxxx

Wendy was fullof life. That is the best way to describe her. I can still remember the vibrant laughter, the humour that oozed out of her and the sheer delight she took in the casual, and the splendid. It was all the same to her. She was not easily offended and she offended no one. She loved people. Love wit, loved life. We will miss her, she was a loyal and good friend.

Thank you for the support and cards so far.
Still trying to come to terms with it but still hard.
I am happy that she is now with dad on the beach. Just have a nice ice cream and think of her looking through the fabulous ice menu cards in Germany ohh look at that or I wonder how good that will be?? just like me in my aunty Joans a strawberry field oh thats a nice one and a big one and another and another mmh bliss. She would hate that we are still fighting to except that she is no more but like others Im still reaching for the phone to call a number that is empty but has meant so much. luckily I told her many times how much I thought of her but still my mind jumps to times past.
