Dr Lucas just popped into my thoughts for some reason tonight and I came across this wonderful JustGiving memorial. He was a great lecturer, always armed with his dry wit and his San Pellegrino lemonade at the ready. It gave me a warm chuckle to see RNLI listed as a donation option, as he would often use the analogy of our entire class being stranded at sea in a life boat to explain seemingly complex physiological mechanisms to us - one of the many ways he would incorporate humour into his teaching.
I’m so sorry for your loss, and I’m grateful that I was lucky enough to be one of the many students he left a lasting impression on.
