In loving memory of the late Kenneth George Nixon who sadly passed away on 4th February 2015
my dad was a loving husband , dad and grandad
he was born and bred round butlershill and loved football in his younger years ,
his profession was a mine worker worked down linby pit for 30 odd years
my mum and dad was married for nearly 51 years they met on a blind date and share there birthdays
he was a devoted husband a loving dad and a even loving grandad
he was strict but fair and never let any one go with out
he loved horse racing and bingo

those special memories of you
will always bring a smile
if only i could have you back for just a little while
then we could sit and talk again
just like we use to do
you always meant so very much
and always will do too
the fact that your no longer here
will always bring me pain
but your forever in my heart
untill we meet again

love you dad rip :(

A beautiful memory, dearer than gold,
Of a father in Law whose worth can never be told,
There's a place in my heart no one can fill,
I miss you, Ken, and always will.

Grandad.. Wow I actually am in such shock I still almost get of the bus from work at City hospital.. When ever ive been in trouble you've always been the strong one I walk in and u may say one or two words but you always gave amazing advice! U wasn't my grandad well u was but u was also my father figure a strong one at that .. The whole family was bought together by u and mama.. You always wore a smile and was such a cute grandad even when u snoozed on the sofa.. I remember when me and Jodie used to eat all your dinner when we was little on your stool! My grandad was such a kind hearted man and tackled everything was so strong! I admire him so much hopefully I have his strength and he's left some for us all! He was for the family and everything he did was for his family! And heaven has gained an Angel and hopefully him and my mum are playing dominos with the brandy bottle out and though his body is roaming with us his spirit forever will he's in our hearts and defo our minds. I miss u so Much! Love you grandad cuddle mum for us all and don't forget to wait for us up there!

Grandad was a real family orientated man. He devoted his life to provide for each person in his family. A man of not many words but a lot of emotion and love. He may be gone, but he has left his heart and soul right here with all off us. He was a true fighter, he had been through a lot of happiness, pain and many losses, but he was the rock off this family, he was who you'd go moan to cry on and he not say a word, but you'd always know what to do next. The man of the family has left all his morals and his essences to each and everyone of us.
Grandad I am forever externally great full for everything you have done for not just me but for everyone, a true legend. Now go have that brandy and lemonade, and down it! You'll only need one to get the jolly feeling. Heaven (if there is such thing) has gained not just a man they gained a husband, dad, grandad! And I love you ever so much, no need to be in discomfort anymore, go play some football, go have a swim for now you can.
