Dearest Joan
You have died on this earth but I know your wonderful joyous spirit will live on in our hearts.
Whenever I walk in Marble Hill by the river or in Richmond Park ... I shall think of you bravely striding out beside me .... loving nature ... the trees...the birds.... especially the Isabella Plantation in the Spring. I will remember you and your beautiful smile..... Farewell my friend ... Helen

Joan was my best friend and always gave me her honest opinion on things. She was determined to fight her illness but also still enjoy life in the time she had left. 'Courageous' and 'inspirational' are two words already used here to describe her and are so fitting.
I will miss her.

Joan was a smashing lady, very helpful, and who always had a smile. Joan's attitude to live life fully and to really appreciate what was good in life is inspirational. We will miss you Joan.
