Martin, was a true gentleman whose integrity was on a par with his drive for life which saw him skiing & fencing. A remarkable warm hearted, generous man who will be sorely missed.
Final point and match Martin.

Since I learned of Martin's passing, I find myself thinking of your family and you are all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
We will all miss Martin within the fencing fraternity of the East Midlands. I am one of the lucky ones whose life was touched by this very special gentleman. I join you and the many others who will miss him, but I remain grateful still for having known him.

Martin was a man that we shall not soon forget. We first met on a trip to Alaska in 2001 and have been friends since then. Martin loved coming to "The Colonies" and seemed to enjoy everything he did here. He certainly lived life to the fullest and was always seeking some new adventure.
Since that trip to Alaska we met several times both here and in the UK, where he served as a marvelous "English speaking guide". Over here, we met in Washington and, years later, made two trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where he climbed to the top of the famed Hatteras lighthouse.
We always enjoyed Martin's company and these two Yanks shall never forget him.
Sadly,

I was proud to have known Martin for 10 years. I taught him to sword fence – a sport he took up on retirment form his role as Parish Clerk in Radcliffe-on-Trent. He was largely responsible for the successful establishment of Radcliffe Sword Club and was its first Chairman, putting in place a solid foundation for the club's future. He was a good friend. May his dear soul rest in peace and his memory be for a blessing

Our friendship started as a small pebble falling into the water, this cause ripples to grow and grow until they cascade outwards into chaos. I will never see you again my friend. I will miss the talks we once had.
Martin was my friend.

Heaven will be a happier place, with the sound of your laughter mate.
Blue Sky & Tail Winds my friend.
