Really sad to hear the tragic news about Ed. He was our star player at Little Ribston and dedicated his time and passion to the team for years. My thoughts are with family and friends. This is a incredibly worthy charity. All the best

Utterly tragic news about a really nice guy. My thoughts are with his loved ones at this awful time. Ed played on our five-a-side team for a decade and was the single most gifted footballer I have ever played with. We'll miss you mate.

Ed, you will live on in a million memories for everyone who knew you, in the tens of thousands of words you put to the page and in the energy, fun and sizzling intelligence you gave to the world in a life that was too short but well lived. Rest well old buddy.
