For quite a few years Phil and I worked together continuously as Site Manager and Project Manager on several big Dematic ASDA jobs.
A real gent and a pleasure to work with; we soon became great friends and shared many family tales. In particular I remember all the great banter, even when there was serious work to do.
Another strong memory is that, having had to give up sport himself, Phil maintained a weekly barracking to ensure I kept up circuit training, skiing and most importantly 10k runs. Thanks Phil you are sorely missed I will remember you to the finishing line.

I spent the greatest seven weeks of my life with Phil in Australia, 2003, watching England win the Rugby World Cup. Memories we shared will stay with me forever, and will never be surpassed.

Rest in peace Phil, so many good times together and a few bad ones, you were the first person I worked with at Dematic and you put me straight on all the do's and dont's on the first day, a true friend.

Phil, you will be truly missed. You were so much a part of our lives. So many wonderful memories of holidays (dark Lowenbrau after climbing Ponce de Leon lighthouse), Christmas musicals (Me & My Girl on the night Nic was born) and the New Year's Eve parties (millennium fireworks in your neighbour's garden). You were there for all the milestones in our lives, Best man at our wedding, a godfather and of course the birthdays. It was a pleasure to be with you and a privilege to know you as friend.

Phil thank you for your friendship over the years. We have many treasured memories of family holidays we shared with you Jude Nic and steph. One of our happiest memory is when you had a new year’s eve party at your house and despite it being very cold you decided to do a barbecue for everyone wearing your Hawaiian shirt.

Even so I never worked with Phil for long on any of the Dematic Projects during my time,I like to say that I always appreciated this professional approach and knowledge.
I did hear in 2014 from another former colleague that Phil was not well, but this is very very sad news.

Best Wishes to his Family

Steffen

I remember our regular squash “FRIENDLY” matches, I emphasise the “friendly” bit as we nick named him Phil War. Get him on the squash court and watch out because Phils competitive spirit meant you were both gonna be completely wasted at the end of the game. We had some amazing rallies. That never give-in mentality never left him.

Then our chats down the Red Lion after the squash I will never forget. We would rattle on to each other, putting the world to rights on all sorts of subjects, Phil could always put a funny slant on things and we would end up having a right laugh.
But also Phil was such a good listener and on many occasion gave me helpful ideas/advice on all sorts of subjects form DIY to work.
I miss those games of squash and our chats after and we will miss our Saturday get together ‘s with Phil, Jude and Suz.

Will miss you Mate
Love Rob and Ang Clements
