In loving memory of Anthony "Tony" Dodd who sadly passed away on 26th August 2017 my dad was a very special man. His life started in dunlagoire ireland. He was in the merchant navy. He enjoyed it so much travelling to different countries. He had many a story to tell. His first voyage he was very badly sea sick and he told me after that journey he was never sea sick again. He was very clever, his geography was brilliant. He used to say he could picture where a country was without looking at a map. My dad met his wife (my late mum) rosemary in dunlagoire at a carnival. They both married in ireland and moved over to coventry where my dad worked as a printer ,then at the Alvis factory in coventry as a progress chaser.then he worked at coventry university in the sports department which he really enjoyed. my dad loved liverpool he enjoyed going there to see my late uncle brian and my aunty jo. My mum and dad had 3 children paul, maurice and madeline and 2 grandaughters michelle and sophie who my dad thought the world of and they too thought the world of their grandad. I was so glad he met my husband, christopher who he took to straight away. We got married 3 weeks before my dad died. We grew up in a lovely caring home my mum and dad gave us so much love. Which l will be eternally grateful for. My dad was liked by so many people he would be described as a gentleman. Thats exactly what he was. I love and miss him every day. You will always be in our hearts my dad.
