Mark Welsh, 55, of Branston, Lincolnshire, passed away in London on the 6th July 2017, following a collision with a lorry on Dukes Road. The beloved father and brother is survived by his daughter, Charlotte, 21, and his five sisters: Tracy, Caroline, Lisa, Donna and Claire and his girlfriend, Karen.

Mark was born in Watford on 22nd February 1962 and moved to Lincolnshire at a young age where he attended St Giles Secondary School. Throughout his life he worked at both Coventry and Boston Borough Council, and eventually became Lincolnshire County Council’s Flood Risk and Development Manager, where he helped to establish a reputation as one of the leading flood authorities in the country. He had a passion for travelling and his motorcycle was his chosen mode of transport for pursuing his adventures. His real talent in life, however, was being a father and he went above and beyond to help his daughter achieve her dreams.

The funeral service will be held at Lincoln Crematorium (Washingborough Road) at 11:50am on Friday 4th August. The wake will follow at the Waggon and Horses in Branston (LN4 1NB). Please wear bright and colourful clothing.

A great friend gone way to soon, we had so many laughs and fun, whether on a tour, day out or a meet up at various bike nights with Andrew.

We talked & text most days, talking about everything and nothing to get through those pressured work days,
always ending with laughter like a pair of kids!!!

Until we ride again..... R.I.P.

Thank you for everything, for giving me a childhood I can treasure, with so many lovely memories. Most of the lovely memories were having a laugh at your expense, for example the moment you slipped on the wet foot prints covering yourself in the bowl of salad you were carrying, also your lack of health and safety especially when asking me to sit on tree branches whilst you cut them down. The biggest and most sincere thank you i have Is for helping my new little family, for providing a beautiful house to bring my daughter up in, you never stopped caring. If there was one thing we all knew it was your love for Charlie, from the day she was born you adored her and she adored you. You were a fantastic father, just like I always have I promise to be there for Charlie I know you would worry about her but she has some fantastic people by her side, you will be truly missed.

Me and Dad at the top of the Fernsehturm. My Dad was my best friend and my everything. We told each other everything and he protected me from the evils of this world. I will make you proud Dad and I will take care of you.

My Dad in front of part of the Berlin Wall. We went on holiday together in September for my 21st and spent the whole week on a 'history tour.' Most of my knowledge has come directly from him, he was such an intelligent man.

A truly great guy, genuine, kind, full of humour and adventure. We got to know Mark through my sister, his partner, Karen. When they visited we had great fun, listening to his stories of their travels together. We have many happy memories of our time with Mark. We are so shocked he isn’t around and we are going to miss him greatly.
