We at Bird College were so sad to hear about Rachel.

She was such a valued member of the Music Service Bexley Band for many years, and will be missed by so many people.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends.

I was so sad to hear of Rachel's passing and what a beautiful service to celebrate her life. She was a ray of sunshine at Bexley Band every Tuesday evening and played with such enthusiasm. My fondest memory of Rachel was in the summer of 2009 when I was on holiday in North Yorkshire, visiting the Eden Camp Museum. I was queuing to buy lunch when I heard 'Hello Sarah' .... and there was Rachel stood next to me, over 200 miles away from home! I reminded her of this chance meeting last time we were at band and she remembered it well. Rachel was positive, kind and saw the good in everyone. She will be sorely missed at band. RIP Rachel xxx

Dear Barbara and Arnold, Virginia, Chris, Jeremy and Matthew,

We wanted to say how sorry we were to hear that Rachel had passed away. We only met her briefly through our Rachel and Jeremy's wedding but were touched by her joy and enthusiasm. Also we are aware that Rachel and Jeremy spent some close times with Rachel when they visited her at her accommodation and when they went away to Yorkshire together.

Our thoughts are with you all.
Best wishes
Trisha and Mark, Claire and Saju.

Dearest Rachel, you may be gone but will never be forgotten. The times you stayed with us at Brook Street which you referred to as "Your five star hotel". What fun we had visiting the Noodle bar, the local pub and dancing the night away. Listening to you playing your clarinet was a joy, your talent amazing. Lots of love to you. Nina, Diane, Anita, Lorraine and all the staff who spent time with you during your stays. xxx

I was sorry to hear of Rachel's passing. She has been an inspiration to all who knew her, particularly musicians at Bexley Academy for Music and Dance, later Bird College. I remember her playing the clarinet when I was privileged to be the conductor of the Haydn Orchestra, and I watched her progress into the older groups. I'm sorry that I shall be unable to attend her funeral due to a previous commitment, but I shall hold her and her family in my prayers.

Rachel.. where do i begin.. my most treasured memories are of wonderful times spent with you dating back as far as 2005.
I will never forget the crossroads era, those were the best times.. trips out every monday night, singing along to heart radio in the car, with your feet on the
dashboard and always combing your hair..

Evenings with you at pottery were such fun, the lopsided coil pots we made were a joint effort.. trips to Bluewater , with you on the mobility scooter reversing into shop displays, our meals out to Brewers Fayre, we always shared a dessert.
Volunteering at Q marys hospital huddled together reading magazines.
You lived your life to the full, how lucky i was to have shared some of it with you.
This wasn't just a job to me..
Rest in peace sweet Rachel..

Rachel was a delight to be with. Her smile and her happy personality brightened up everywhere she went. She loved her clarinet lessons and really enjoyed playing in the Bexley Band. She is a person we will never forget and will be sadly missed.
