I only knew you for a short time, Mary, but you were such a ray of sunshine in my class. You helped out so wonderfully and you were so kind to me and the children. May you rest in peace. xxx

Who was Mary?
A lovely, beautiful lady.
She was a wife and a Mum
And a very good friend to some.
Her laughter and sense of fun,
Love for her family - second to none.
Knitting and sewing was something she loved,
And of course to win at Dominoes and Rummicub.
The family and friends you loved Mary
At the moment their emotions vary
As they remember your love for life,
For your son Sean and Alex, as his wife.
We loved you Mary and will miss you like mad,
But we are thankful for the time with you we had.

So sorry to hear about Mary. I was introduced to Mary and Alex many years ago by her close friend Maureen Smith. Our paths crossed many times over the years,as is common in Queensferry and she was always cheery and interested to hear how my girls were getting on.My sister and I bumped into Mary and Alex at several Brian Kennedy concerts and we enjoyed many a discussion about his wonderful voice and music. She will be sorely missed by so many.
Thinking of you Alex and Sean at this very sad time.

Very sad to hear of Mary's passing. I will always remember her as the wee school pal who would pass me 'Love Heart' sweeties. Safe journey home, Mary. X

Today we lit a candle in the Scare de Cour in Paris for Aunty Mary. We've spoke about her so much while we have been away. Mum has told us lots of stories about her holidays with her and uncle Alex, particularly sharing a room when they went on their wee trips when she was over in Spain, mum was laughing about giving them a row for being noisy chatting etc in the room when she was trying to sleep, and that Aunty Mary would always say "we look gorgeous!" Just before they left to go out for dinner in the evenings. Saturdays at Grandad's will never be the same without her infectious laugh and smile, she always lit up the room with her cheery "Hello!" Always came in with her arms open ready for a big hug and usually holding a bunch of flowers for Grandads house. Like Michelle said I wish we had gave her more babies to knit for, I have always told my friends about the beautiful knitting she did and how our babies would be dressed head to toe in her fabulous hand knitting! We will always love and miss you Aunty Mary, and you will always be in our thoughts xxx

I recall so many times working with Mary at St Margaret's School South Queensferry in a time long ago and far away, a halcyon age there. She gave so much to the school ,the children and the staff. I recall Mary P and Mary L working with my class and their additions to my underwater mural. I remember Mary using her artistic talents to enhance my classroom for the pupils and for me. My thoughts and prayers are with you Alex and Sean.
Rest eternal...

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.

Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you,
and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.

Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?

Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just round the corner.

All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!
