In loving memory of Salvador Buttigieg ( Sal) who sadly passed away on 15th March 2017.
Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer on 13th of January, but after several tests there was no treatment that could help him. Dad came back home to spend the rest of his days being cared for by his family. The people that he loved so much and who loved him more than words can say.
As you all know Dad was known by many and i'm sure that many of you have a little story of how you met or knew him.
Please can you add you story for us to read so that we can picture more memories of his life.
We would like to remember him as the most loving, happy and caring Husband ,Father ,Grandad ,Great Grandad , Uncle and Friend to many.
Dad continued to joke right up to the last few weeks of his life by hiding his fart gun under the sheets whenever someone came to visit him , including letting it off when the nurses came round from St Barnabas. He had great pleasure in winding my mum up but telling me first that that was what he was about to do.
So Dad if it's possible please keep on winding us up from wherever you are.

Tomorrow we say goodbye to a special precious friend but it won't be goodbye. It will be till we meet again. Sal was a dear friend to the Coyle family. There isn't one of us that would or could say anything bad about Sal. He was the most generous fun loving person anyone could ever meet. He will be with one of his best mates now. Spike and Sal. Oh what a pair. I still have the keep cages in the loft.. I miss seeing him around the estate and when he used to pop in for a cuppa. Rest in peace my friend and love to Louisa and all the family. Xxx

About 23 years ago Sal laid my tiled floor in the kitchen, we still have it now. When I asked him how much I owed him for a very good job Sal replied just a bag of chips will do so of to the chippy I went and that day we all stood outside eating our chips. Sal didn't know I tucked £20 in his back pocket until he had gone home. I guess I will never know if he realised or if his trousers got washed with the £20 still in his pocket lovely man and a very funny man RIP Sal you are greatly missed xx

I've known this wonderful man most my life. I am a friend of Anita who I went to Monks Road school with. He was a funny, cheeky, smiley man. Recently I saw him most mornings coming from the bookies on his bike and calling in at the pharmacy ( smiling behind the door before we opened ) he was so full of life and thought the world of his family. I have missed seeing him these last few months and will never forget him. My thoughts are with Anita and his lovely family. R.I.P. Sal x
