In loving memory of George Arthur Chadwick who sadly passed away on 3rd March 2017.

George had several different ailments, including that of both physical and mental illnesses. Doctors' visits and hospital appointments became a central part of everyday life, yet he kept forever battling on through his hardships like a true fighter.

In 2012, George and his family received the devasting news that he was diagnosed with stomach Cancer. Two years had passed with George still being his usual upbeat self, when he received more bad news and was diagnosed with both Alzheimer's disease and Dementia in 2014. George remained continually positive and wished to live life to the full by going out every day and keeping his social life incredibly active, as it always had been.

Despite various treatments and medication, unfortunately George's condition was deemed terminal in 2015, and surgery was non-optional. However, in defiance of the 6-12 month life expectancy in 2015 George proudly lived physically able into the beginning of 2017.

From 2016 onward things became much more challenging when due to the progression of the Alzheimer's and Dementia, George lost his ability to speak fluently and fulfill day-to-day tasks. But did he change his lifestyle? No, he kept on living his life just as before, thanks to the support of his wife, son and loving family.

Five weeks prior to his passing George was taken into the care of Chamberline Court where he could receive the round the clock treatment he needed and was surrounded by carers, professionals and family visits. In the last month of his life George deteriorated rapidly until unfortunately he was unable to carry on fighting any longer. His wife and son were with him the evening of the Thursday, George passed away in his sleep and at peace on Friday 3rd March at 04:40am.

We would gratefully appreciate any donations to be split between George's two chosen charities and if people wish to pay their respects to come to the funeral which will be held on 28th March 12:45 at the Heart of England crematorium in Nuneaton, followed by a reception in memory of George at the Ex-Servicemen's Social Club in Bedworth at around 13:45.

On behalf of George's loved ones and friends, thank you very much for any donations received.
