In loving memory of Brenda Millicent Francis who sadly passed away on 16th December 2016.

A devoted loving Mother, Nan, Sister, Aunt and friend she will be sorely missed.

A celebration of Brenda's life will take place on Friday 13th January 2017 at Lincoln Crematorium, Washingborough Road, Lincoln LN4 1EF at 2.30pm where we will remember Brenda as the special and unique person she was.

If you would like to bring/send flowers you can, however we would love for any donations to go to St Barnabas Hospice in Lincoln. You can donate either online via Just Giving (see link on the right hand side of this page), send cash or cheques (made payable to 'St Barnabas Hospice' along with a note of reference to Brenda) to Lincolnshire Co-op Funeral Services or there will be a collection on the day immediately following the service.

Brenda spent the last 7 weeks of her life with the wonderful team at St Barnabas Hospice where the drs, nurses and volunteers alike went above and beyond their care of duty to make Brenda's time there joyful, positive and peaceful at varying times. They played a huge part in making Brenda, her family and friends feel welcome and nothing was too much to ask. For those 7 precious weeks we are extremely grateful to them.

Please join us after the service at The Swan Holme on Doddington Road, Lincoln, LN6 3RX – where Brenda often frequented during her time living in Lincoln – for drinks and light refreshments. There is lots of parking at the venue and it is approximately 5 miles from the crematorium.

Feel free to write in the comments area below of stories and anecdotes of Brenda and how she touched your life. We would love these memories to hold for years to come to look back on.

With love from

Donna, Billy, Zoë, Mark, Joanne and Stacey

Loved this special lady soooo much! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

As a child, she touched my life in many ways. She was ALWAYS happy, wonderful and kind to me. ❤️❤️❤ ️I remember visiting Uncle Bill and Auntie Brenda, a lot! It felt like we were going to visit the sunshine, even when it was raining! She always spoke to us with 'my lovely' or 'sweet' at the end of every sentence - 'Hello, my lovely', 'Yes you can sweet' - always making you feel warm inside and smile.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My memories go right back to the 'Francis Electrical' shop, near the fire station, in Greenwich, which later was converted to a front room, as part of their home, I suspect due to all the babies that kept on coming. There was always a new baby - either in her belly, her arms or the huge wooden high chair in the kitchen, and little ones weaving around her legs. 'Ankle biters' Dad n Uncle Bill used to call us all. Auntie Brenda always let me hold her babies, even though I was quite little myself when Donna was born. Her tipple was Guinness, back then, lots if iron in it, apparently.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I remember sunny days out and picnics at Dymchurch Beach.
I remember their visits to us and the 'Camper Van' that we slept in, parked up outside Radnor Bridge. Fun times.
I remember going to visit their 'The Land' n staying in the Caravan there. We were so lucky, we had the whole Apple Orchard to play in, that's where I was allowed to help my Dad drive his car, even though I couldn't reach the pedals. Auntie Brenda n Mum were always in the little kitchenette cooking us all fry ups, or dinner, and making the tea. I made her a picture once, she put it up in that kitchenette and it was always there, on the wall, every time we went to visit. When 'Darling Buds of May' came on TV, it reminded me of our days at 'The Land' and of my Auntie Brenda. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We didn't get to see them all so much when they moved up North, everyone was growing up n life got busy. I did take my children to visit her about 10 years ago. I'm so glad I did and that they got to spend some time with this Magical Lady of my childhood.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Auntie Brenda was my absolute most favourite Auntie, and I have a lot of Aunties!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I remember her with Happiness, Joy, and the Fondest of Childhood Memories, which I will Treasure, Forever!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm going to miss you my friend.
I'm going to miss our hours of reminisicing laughter and tears
Remembering. "That's another fine mess you've got me into Stanley" brings a smile to
to my face.
Remembering. The lottery thumb, ' years later how we laughed about that'
Remembering. "How we'd laugh together, tears running down our faces'.
Remembering "You bringing in the crossword to do, in the hopes of winning £1000
Remembering. " How we could spend hours together, talking and laughing.
Remembering. "We had so much in common in our lives, both widowed, Children,
But we were both 'happy with our lot."
Remembering. "You always greeted me with 'Hello My Dear', with that lovely smile
on your face"
Remembering. "How on the phone you always finished with,"Goodbye Lovely"
Remembering. "How you spoke always of your children and grandchildren with so
much pride, your love for them all was unconditional, they were your
World, and they all in return gave that love to you. You bought them
up perfect, mostly on your own, they all have so much of you in them,
that gentle kindness, careing and considerate towards other people's
feelings, you don't need me to say ' there a credit to you.' but they are.
Then I think about your pain, how you took it all in you stride, trying so hard to keep it to yourself, how we planned when you came out, I would come and spend time with you. That day when you said, " I'm going to have to take this bed home," me saying, " then I'll have to sleep on the floor, because that beds not big enough for two people. How we laughed. I like everyone hated to see you in so much pain, didn't want you to leave us, and we all felt so helpless. I truly believe in the end your husband came to take you with him. And now you are together both happy.
I'll always remember so many things about our friendship, you were my dearest friend, the sister I never had. I'm going to miss you my friend. You know what ' we never had a disagreement all the years we knew each other. I clearly remember our first shift together., how we started at the home that first night, never met before, neither of us had ever worked in a home, " talk about the blind leading the blind" we laughed all through that shift, And never stopped laughing.
I just want to say "thank you for all the laughter and tears we've shared" thank you for being a true friend, for always being there, through good and bad times. And for being my friend. You have left behind so many wonderful memories your family will share forever, as I will too. I'm going to miss you.
Goodbye lovely.
RIP
