Antoinette Lindesay wrote

I have never known life without Sister D. She has always been a part of my life. Our families have always been close and I cannot imagine life without her stylish presence. I will never forget her life or the legacy she left behind. By God's grace I will see Mummy D again soon.

From my childhood calling you Sister Delisser then as the years went by and the age gap closed it became Sister D, then Dorothy and eventually Dor. My family loved you beyond measure and yours mine as to this day your children call me Auntie Dawn (you wouldn't have it any other way!). The turn out for your send off was a testament to the life's you touched and a lasting legacy to the family you left behind.
I will remember you always and thank you for the love and friendship.
Dawn xxx

Attended going home service for Sister Delisser. Prayers to her family, her church brethren and to the many who came to show their support. She was not a celebrity, her transition was not breaking news on the regular media nevertheless people from all walks of life, from all denominations filled the sanctuary beyond capacity to show their sympathy and respect to this woman who opened her arms, heart and door to all. Her family will grieve but they can rest assured that Sister Delisser accomplished much and touched many.
