I met Suzanne, 7 years ago when I joined the Healthy School team in Derby. She knew my husband Jim from her days at Derby Moor and we quickly established a good working relationship. Suzanne was one of those people who stands out on life’s journey, as she was so passionate about the importance of physical activity for young people, you couldn’t fail to be inspired. She helped me enormously in my role with great patience and humour and also a dogged determination that we both needed at times, to feel we were making a difference to the lives of young people in Derby.
I know she leaves behind a huge legacy for children and young people in the city, she will be missed by so many and whenever I see my own young boys swinging from the monkey bars, I think of Suzanne and smile. Arwen x

Dear cousin of greg's - shared so many good times in Cornwall and at May and Jack's infamous parties. But Suzanne was a fantastic support to me when I was fighting breast cancer - we had our operations a month apart and our radiotherapy coincided. Suzanne was always there for me if I had a question or doubt and we shared many conversations about how we were feeling. I was lucky to have survived and feel so sad that Suzanne lost the fight to such a cruel illness. She was always so easy to chat to and helped me no end - we became much closer at this point. Greg and I feel very sad that this wonderful lady is no longer with us but know she is now at peace.

Sue, your passion for sport in Derbyshire and desire to see all young people reach their potential is something that has inspired many of us, and will continue to do so for many years to come. You will be sorely missed across the county. May you rest in peace

Suzanne, a wonderful teacher and friend. The teacher who would catch up with us as we walked round the cross country course and made us all laugh when she'd say "come on, get the sweets out". (She was nobodies fool). The lady who helped so many of us reach our full potential in sport and encouraged us to go further. I could go on and on but will end by saying what so many people have already said,I think of suzanne and I think of her smiling. The sun has set on amazing person, how lucky I am to have known her.

I only really got to know Suzanne over the past six months, but I always knew that she was a strong, loving, fun and courageous woman, mother and friend to many. Getting to know Suzanne has been great fun, with a wonderful sense of humour and caring nature she was so welcoming to me when I first met her and since then always took the time to ask how I was and give me a smile. I feel lucky to have shared and been a part of some of her families very special days this year, days that made her so happy that I'm sure she is looking down with a smile and plenty of pride.

Suzanne was a wonderful lady who changed so many lives. She never complained during her illness and was always positive. Suzanne was amazing at the weddings and again no complaints, just lived every single moment. Her laugh and smile will be truly missed. If you had a problem Suzanne always had the answer. Love and miss her so much. Xx
