I just came across this obituary, and remember working with Rose so long ago. It was at the Home Office in Croydon, Lunar House. I just remember her to be a really lovely family lady, full of concern and love for her family always. I lost my dear Mother around the same time, so my heart is also broken so i know what the family is going through.

May God help us to get through our grief.

I and my Mum were also parishioners of St Mary's. I will remember you in my prayers when I pray for my dear Mum too.

God bless

Dear Sandra, Anton and Samantha ,

I am very sorry for the deep loss of your mum.

I felt the big gap that she had left when I visited her home at Jane Walker Park. Strange not to see her watching TV or talking lovingly to the cats. I remember how animated she would become when she told her colourful stories from the past. How gifted she was to be able to remember these in such detail and to write them down too.

Her generosity to me in offering to be a second mother to me, after my own mother had died, came from a motherly & compassionate heart.

I can imagine Auntie Rosie will be catching up with all her loved ones in Heaven ......and she will also be praying for her loved ones on earth.

May you know the healing & comfort & presence of the Lord in your lives today and always, Amen.

Rose’s death leaves a void that cannot be filled One minute she was here and now she is gone. I admired her complete dedication to her family, and generosity of spirit. I loved her stories and most of all her eternal kindness...all wrapped up in a smile and a look that held me gently. Rose - Thank you for being you, and for taking the time to know and to see me.
My heart goes out to Sandra, Anton and Sam. With love. Joan, Peter, Aimee, Anna and Lucy

Hey this is not easy to be writing. Its made a bit easier by thinking of the times I met or spoke to Rose, normaly telling me off for working Sandra too hard. It always left me smiling - odd that. She had a way of speaking to you that left you thinking in a different way - if only to keep up with her. I am lucky I met her. love Jonathan

She was always kind, generous and fun to be with and always had time to listen and help with my problems, she was like a big sister to me. I will miss her so much- rest in peace my beautiful friend- you always said that I was your guardian angel and now I know that you are mine watching over me. God Bless and keep you until we meet again.

People were drawn to Mum… whether it was her beautiful smile, the kindness in her eyes, her warmth or openness – I do not know. She had a generosity of spirit that was equal to none and everyone loved her! I can’t say that she was normal – she had a way of thinking that was quirky and her logic was something that I simply could not follow – yet it made sense somehow. Her perceptiveness and mischievousness made her both easy and fun to be around and she would blindside you with insights that seem to come out of nowhere. Her family meant everything to her and she was like a lioness in that regard. Maybe that is why she loved cats so much and they in turn adored her…
Mum has been such a central figure in my life that I cannot comprehend that she is no longer there.. She always had time for people and everyday now I hear how much of an impact that she had on other people’s lives.
I recognise now that I have been both blessed and spoilt by having mum as my mother. I will miss her breaking out into made up songs to the cats, I will miss her utterly amazing cooking that was always cooked with love, I will miss her telling me to be careful and not work too much, I will miss seeing her tenderly care for the roses and plants in the garden which just blossomed in her near presence, I will miss her insisting that she can watch a movie whilst doing the crossword puzzle and reading a book but most of all I will miss seeing the love shining in her eyes.
I love you mum!
