David Ernest Hobby (29 Jan 1920 - 17 Jul 2014)

David passed away peacefully at home on July 17 surrounded by his family. He was 94.

David was born into an army family and spent his career in the RAF, working on radar and wireless equipment. He carried out a four-year tour of duty abroad during the Second World War, stationed in Burma and India.

He met and married Joyce in 1945. They travelled extensively with Dave's work and thoroughly enjoyed postings in hot climates.

David and Joyce had five children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

David had an enquiring mind and read extensively in the fields of science, maths and history. He had a lifelong interest in politics and current affairs. He was a loyal and committed family man and will be sadly missed by all.
