In loving memory of Gordon Arnold Glithero who sadly passed away on 10th June 2016 aged 80 years.
Gordon was a beloved husband to Sylvia and father to David, Carol, Stephen, Colin and Andrew.
Born in Newark, Peterborough to Norman and Hilda. He grew up with his sister Pam in the Peterborough area attending a local grammar school.
He met his wife to be Sylvia in Southend on Sea at a local dance hall while working in the Canvey Island area. During his conscription into the Suffolk Regiment for National Service his first son David was born. He saw service in Cyprus before being demobbed and returning to civilian life.
The family moved to Corby and during this time his daughter Carol was born. A move to Grainthorpe in Lincolnshire followed as he persued his career in Quantity Surveying.
Stephen and Colin joined the family before another career move led to the families relocation to what would be the family home for the rest of his days in North Hykeham, Lincoln.
Shortly after moving to Lincoln Andrew was born completing the family.
Gordon was a loving, loyal husband and father and much loved Grandfather to Emma, Chris, Sarah, Robert and Georgina.
He always had a passion for the outdoors and wildlife, in his element camping around the UK or pottering about in his greenhouse. He was particularly fond of Scotland and a keen supporter of the RSPB.
He was always there for his family to help with any problems, large or small. Never questioning but happy to lend a helping hand.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Although we hadn't often met
I heard of your passing with regret
And though you've left this earthly plain
I know that we will meet again.

You will always be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
I shall always treasure the memory of our bird watching trips, eventhose in the middle of winter which invariably ended in a local hostelry for a pint or two.
Rest in peace Dad

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us everyday,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

Sadly missed along life's way, quietly remembered every day... No longer in our life to share, but in our hearts, you're always there.

Taken from us so suddenly, you have left a void in all our hearts.
I will never forget you. Always there for support, a listening ear or to share a joke.
Rest in peace. I miss you so much.
Until we meet again.
