Passed away peacefully in Rotherham Hospice after a short but brave battle.

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest,
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, ‘Peace be thine’.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

Loving you forever, forgetting you never.
From your heartbroken wife Carol

Dad, you were our rock and our hero. Gone but forever in our hearts.
From Martin & Lisa, Louise & Christopher.
To our ever loving, ever crazy Gran-Gran

His nature was loving and giving,
His heart was made of pure gold,
And to us who truly love him,
His memory will never grow old.

From Daniel, Joshua, Isabella & Bethan.

Hugh will be received into St Bede’s Church on Monday, 20th June at 6.00pm.
A Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated on Tuesday June 21st at 9.30am.
Family flowers only please, donations if desired for Rotherham Hospice may be left in the collection at Church or sent c/o Jeremy Neal, J P Neal Independent Funeral Service, 471 Badsley Moor Lane, Rotherham, S65 2QS.

I will always remember:

• Your wisdom
• Your kindness and generosity
• Your humour
• Those good looks!
• The times we would put the world to rights
• Our hangovers!

But above all, I will never forget your friendship and love.

To be considered your friend is one of the great joys and honours of my life.

I look forward to sharing a glass or two with you over the other side, soon enough.

And until that day, remember this. We both love you, now and forever.

Chris and Rose
