Arthur Hudson (4 Jul 1919 - 10 Jun 2016)

In loving memory of Arthur Hudson who sadly passed away on 10th June 2016. Having become a Christian in 1934, he began helping with services in 1938. Arthur came to England from St Martins Guernsey on 21 June 1940 , and was allocated to the Gloucestershire Regiment, and sent to Ludlow. He was discharged from the army in July 1942 and worked at the Bristol Aeroplane company in the stores. He came to Cliff College in January 1947 and stayed until July 1953, latterly being in charge of the dining hall. Elna and Arthur were married 8 August 1953, and they went to work at Wood Street Mission in Manchester, and then to Wesley Chapel in Clasketgate, Lincoln as caretaker in January 1954. Arthur got his first camera in 1964 and over 80 boxes of slides tell of the holidays they had and places they visited. They had moved to Turner Street in 1961. Arthur retired from Our Lady's RC school in 1982, and they moved to Tower Flats in 1992."Preaching on Sunday has been my first love", said Arthur, "after caring for Elna."
