In loving memory of Ronald Stannard who sadly passed away on 9th February 2016 aged 84. He will be much missed by all his family and friends.

Ron started out life in Beeston with his mum, dad and brother John. He did his National Service in Scotland on bomb disposal and ironically got chatting to a chap on a holiday in Turkey in the 90's who told him that he remembered them being there on their family farm. He worked for 20th century fox showing and distributing films, as a tram conductor and finally for Royal Mail for 30 years. On his retirement from the service he continued to work and his chosen place was LGI post room where he stayed until his official retirement at age 65.

He loved to travel and spent happy holidays all over Europe. He also loved photography and he took lots of photos of us, his family, who had to pose until all was set just right in the pre-digital age.

He loved to chat and regale us with his worst dad jokes, which we knew off by heart, but laughed along anyway

To a man who showed me the true meaning of strength, to a man who stood by me in some of my darkest times, to a man who showed me that the world isn't as big as you think and it needs to be explored. Me and my family thank you for helping make me the person I am today.
It pains me to know that I wasn't able to be there with you on your final days but knowing you as I did, you wouldn't have had it any other way.
I'm far from where you are resting but I know you will always be by my side big guy.
Till we meet again grandad, you enjoy that beer and rest easy xxx
